Practical Missions Course

The Practical Missions Course (PMC) is a six week YWAM course with an emphasis on missions and evangelism in India. Lecture and practical outreach will be combined together during the six week course so that school participants can experience “learning by doing.” Lectures will be bilingual, Spanish and English. The lecture and outreach phases will be intertwined – That is, one or two days of lecture and then one or two days of outreach and so on.
A primary strategy through which the school will be doing outreach will be conducting medical camps with a mobile medical clinic. This clinic will often be combined when possible with evangelism strategies such as children’s ministry, the Jesus film, music, personal prayer, preaching and literature. The outreaches will be partnered with rural church plants in order to assist them in their outreach and growth.
The purpose of the school is to give training and vision for missions in India, and to combine practical helps and other strategies with church planting works to further the gospel in Karnataka and beyond.
Lecture topics will include
• Cross-cultural communication
• Evangelism & Apologetics
• India culture and history
• Hinduism, Islam and Nominal Christianity
• Spiritual and physical health on the field
• Missions history & principles – especially in India
• Raising a strong prayer and financial support team
• Intercession and Spiritual warfare
• Beginning Kannada, Tamil, and English/Spanish Languages
• Calling and Destiny
• Utilizing your spiritual gifts & leadership skills
• Practical missions outreach skills
Also included will be times of intercession, worship, small group discussions, one on ones, and assignments such as book reports, journaling and public speaking practice. Students will not only have chances to participate but also to lead in different areas. The school will be based in Bangalore, run by YWAM’s Mobile Evangelism Ministry (MEM). Much of the outreach will be in more unreached rural areas in Karnataka

The dates of the next PMC have not yet been determined.  Stay tuned!
